 The Abyssinian is one of the oldest breeds of cat that we know of.  The breed is believed to have originated in Ethiopia but there have been mumified specimins found in Egyptian tombs.  This beed of cat currently ranks as number 5 in the most popular breeds in the world. They are long and lean with a beautiful ticked tabby coat that has the appearance of a wildcat. But don't let that wild look fool you.
